Thought you all might like to know that we had some good news this week - YEA!!!!.

 

He had his last radiation treatment on Tuesday - YEA!!  (No more driving 200 miles a day - now just once a week.)  Yesterday we saw his doctor and he had chemo, which he will continue to have once a week on Wednesdays.  The doctor was pleased that the radiation and the chemo have had a positive affect on the protein level that they measure, which shows the level of cancer in his blood.  It was down from 6,000 (first of January) to 3,800 now - YEA and PRAISE THE LORD!!  So - bottom line - he is moving in the right direction.  Bad news is all his blood counts are way down - red cells, white cells, platelets, hemoglobin - well all of it.  Next week, if they are still down, he will get blood.  Because of his low immune system, he's under house arrest.  No shopping, no eating out, no crowds where there might be sick folks.

 

Oh yeah, he also has shingles on his bottom - don't know where that came from! 

 

He gets a little antsy talking to me all day - so give him a call sometime.  When we are home, the cell phone doesn't work too good, so call on home phone - 256-422-3070.
